Drei Gesänge zum Advent

Information

Die drei Gesänge zum Advent vertonen Gedichte unterschiedlicher deutscher Autoren: Joseph von Eichendorff, Käthi Hohl-Hauser und Peter Horst. Ihr Gottesbezug ist subtil und feinfühlig, sie erzählen von der Befreiung des Menschen aus der Dunkelheit. Die Vertonungen spüren den Stimmungen der Gedichte nach und geben dem Sänger Raum, seine Botschaft zu entfalten. Während das zweite Lied eine eher moderne harmonische Sprache spricht, greifen die beiden anderen auf die Klangsprache der Romantik und des Barocks zurück.

3. Sagt es weiter (Spread The Word) - Peter Horst

These three Songs are set to words by different German poets: Joseph von Eichendorff, Käthi Hohl-Hauer and Peter Horst. In those poems, their reference to the Christian God is subtle and sensitive and they like to tell a story about the liberation of Man from darkness. All of the three songs try to convey that very notion and give the singer the freedom to develop that message. While the second song is more modern and atonal in language, the other ones recur to a more historic approach of vocal composition.

The songs have been composed for the tenor Sascha Mücke. They were premiered in St. Bonifatius, Hagen, Germany, in 2016.
