“Color blocking” ist eine Technik des Grafikdesigns, die auch in der Mode angewandt wird, dabei werden leuchtende und kontrastreiche Farbflächen in unterschiedlicher Breite aneinandergereiht. Die kontrastierenden Blöcke finden sich auch in meiner Musik wieder. Das Stück bezieht Stilmittel von Techno und elektronischer Musik ein, vor allem das sich ständig wiederholende Motiv aus drei Tönen und der pulsierende Bass. Die Harmonik kreist dabei subtil um einen c-Moll-Dreiklang. Dazwischen treten schwebende Flächen, die den Puls des Rhythmus für eine Weile außer Kraft setzen. Dabei spannt die Musik einen großen Bogen zwischen unterschiedlichen Stilen, von avantgardistischen Clustern bis zu den theatralischen Dur- und Mollakkorden, von zwitschernden Flöten und grummelnden Basstönen bis zum feierlichen fortissimo der Orgel.

"Color blocking" is a graphic design technique that is also used in fashion, where bright and contrasting areas of color are strung together in varying widths. The contrasting blocks can also be found in my music. The piece incorporates stylistic devices from techno and electronic music, especially the constantly repeating motif of three notes and the pulsating bass. The harmonics subtly revolve around a C minor triad. In between, there are floating pads that suspend the pulse of the rhythm for a while. The music spans a wide range of styles, from avant-garde clusters to theatrical major and minor chords, from chirping flutes and grumbling bass notes to the organ's solemn fortissimo.
